Tipps and tricks at leather care
If after some time nasty marks are at your velour leather, especially often found at light leather colors, please take a piece of very finely granulated abrasive paper and abrade the leather without pressure in just one direction.
By this treatment you work a new nap into the leather, thus, nasty marks will simply be “cut out”.
Do you have problems with nasty collars?
Try to solve this problem with the washing machine. Put the leather cloth inside out into the washing machine and add some vinegar. Depending on size and quality of the leather it should be between 1 to 5 liters.
Vinegar is the fabric softener for your velour leather and avoids the bleeding of the textile. Now wash the leather at a max. of 30°C with mild detergent. Do not centrifuge or put into the laundry dryer.
Finally, kick the leather out with the leather on top and let it dry in the sun or warmth at the waistband or on a hanger.
If the nap is flat after drying rework it again with abrasive paper as detailed in the beginning.
